UnionPay has upgraded its Mobile QuickPass service to further enhance the contactless payment, QR code payment and in-app payment facilities offered by the firm.

The aim is to largely enhance mobile payment experience for UnionPay cardholders.

It will allow customers to make payments in various scenarios, inside and outside Mainland China as well as online and offline.

The users will be able to make offline payments by double-clicking the side button to pay by QuickPass or QR code on demand, without requiring to download or open any Apps.

The upgraded UnionPay Mobile QuickPass service covers multiple payment solutions and supports a suite of value-added services and premium promotions, the company said.

UnionPay’s global acceptance network currently covers 180 countries and regions. Over half of these countries are said to accept UnionPay QR code or mobile QuickPass payment.
