Digi Telecommunications has partnered with Malaysian bank CIMB Group to introduce wireless payment terminals for easy and secure credit and debit card transactions.

Part of Digi’s efforts to digitise business operations in the country, the new devices enable card-based payments without requiring connection to a physical phone line.

The terminals have been designed to allow simple setup and remove Bluetooth pairing with other devices, leading to decreased battery consumption and longer usage.

Digi chief business officer Eugene Teh said: “We want to help businesses step into this digital world so we are rolling out digital solutions and key strategic partnerships for businesses to capitalise on.

“Today we are happy to announce a partnership with one of Malaysia’s largest banks, CIMB, to bring added convenience to our enterprise business (EB) customers.

“We want to help them drive business growth by taking away the complexities of back-end systems so they can focus on delivering their products and services better.”
