Tillster, a provider of digital ordering and engagement products and services for the restaurant industry, has entered into a strategic agreement with PayPal to offer the payment option in Tillster’s branded mobile applications.

Tillster will also leverage PayPal as a funding option across its branded and owned assets.

The deal will provide Tillster’s restaurant clients an option to access PayPal’s millions of active digital wallet users and certain PayPal marketing resources.

The agreement will offer Tillster’s customers an affordable option for accepting mobile payments as well as provide PayPal access to potentially millions of offline transactions across Tillster’s restaurant industry client base.

The company said that the branded mobile applications will enable PayPal customers to pay for their food using their PayPal accounts. The mobile app option will be available for clients at thousands of quick service restaurants later this year.

Additionally, PayPal customers can fund digital stored value cards with their PayPal accounts, or use their account to make in-store payments.

Tillster CEO Perse Faily said: "Our clients are seeking marketing and cost of acceptance benefits from mobile payments to create value for their guests and themselves, and the solution we’re delivering with PayPal addresses both of these issues."

PayPal vice president, merchant and retail solutions Robert Clarkson said: "Through our efforts with Tillster, people who are increasingly connected to their mobile devices will have a secure and easy way to pay in-store at checkout at some of their favorite restaurants, with the added benefit of loyalty programs."
