Point of sale application TabTill has announced a new partnership with giant American company PayPal, offering mobile payments and an exclusive deal to its UK customers and merchants.
Zoltan Szipola, co-founder of TabTill, said: "We are very proud to be working with PayPal to offer our customers the ability to use TabTill to take mobile payments in their shops. Those able to innovate in the retail sector will see more revenue and will be able to survive better during lean periods."
The TabTill app links with the PayPal app available on smartphones, allowing users to pay for goods and services via their mobile device.
"A recent research commissioned by PayPal found that almost 80% of Brits wish they could leave their wallet at home, with 32% choosing a smartphone over a wallet when going out," said Rob Harper, head of retail services at PayPal UK.
PayPal now offers a three months commission-free trading to all TabTill merchants and a permanent reduced rate of 2.75% per transaction (normally 3.4%) after that.
"We will continue to innovate and bring new features and upgrades to our point of sale system on a regular basis. We are constantly improving our product and looking at new ways to enhance the retail environment," concluded Szipola.
