GLN International, Hana Bank’s cross-border payment platform subsidiary, has expanded its QR payment coverage across Mainland China.
The company made the expansion by integrating with the Weixin Pay (WeChat Pay) network operated by Tenpay Global.

The integration enables GLN users to make QR payments at Weixin Pay merchants in China, in addition to existing UnionPay-affiliated locations.
The expanded reach is intended to support a wider set of payment use cases, including street food purchases, retail transactions, public transport payments, and taxi fares.
GLN stated that the latest rollout follows its partnership with UnionPay International announced last year.
By connecting both UnionPay and Weixin Pay networks, GLN said it “significantly expands QR payment accessibility for outbound travellers”.
GLN said users can pay without installing local Chinese payment apps or using physical cards. Instead, the service works through Korean financial and platform applications already used in Korea.
GLN’s QR payment service is currently available through Purple GLN, Hana OneQ, Hana Money, Hana Card, and Toss. Additional partner channels, including Naver Pay and KB Star Banking, are expected to be introduced sequentially.
GLN International CEO Suk Lee said: “Through this expansion, travelers will be able to enjoy a more seamless QR payment experience across a much wider range of everyday scenarios in China.
“GLN will continue leading its global payment network to provide users with the same simple and convenient payment experience overseas as they enjoy at home.”
GLN International provides QR payment and QR cash withdrawal services across 14 countries.
Last month, GLN International launched a nationwide QR payment service in Vietnam in partnership with local payment processor NAPAS.
