American airlines company JetBlue has teamed up with financial firm Popular to roll out two new credit cards for customers in Puerto Rico.

The new credit cards are ‘JetBlue Mastercard’ and the ‘JetBlue Mastercard Eleva’ from Popular’. These co-branded credit cards are the only travel cards in Puerto Rico.

They offer 5,000 or 25,000 TrueBlue points as a welcome bonus, subject to customers meeting the purchase requirements within the first 90 days of opening the credit account.

Moreover, both the cards are equipped with contactless technology for touch-free payments.

Popular VP of retail lending Solimar Cedeno said: “Connecting the dreams of our customers to financial solutions is an important part of Popular’s culture, which is why we partnered with JetBlue to create these two new products that offer great benefits.”

The JetBlue Mastercard cardmembers can earn two TrueBlue points on every dollar spent at JetBlue.

For purchases including groceries, restaurants, gasoline, and others, cardholders can earn one point per $1 spent.

Similarly, the JetBlue Mastercard Eleva cardholders can earn three TrueBlue points per $1 spent on JetBlue purchases, and one point for every dollar spent on other purchases.

These points do not expire and can be used to travel to their desired destinations.

The JetBlue Mastercard comes without an annual fee, while the JetBlue Mastercard Eleva comes with a $99 annual fee.

The latter comes with additional benefits including a free checked bag, up to three travel companions on JetBlue flights, and a $100 annual statement credit on buying a JetBlue Vacations package.

JetBlue VP of loyalty and personalization Don Uselmann said: “The JetBlue Mastercard and the JetBlue Mastercard Eleva cards from Popular provide our customers in Puerto Rico with value and flexibility to earn points on their everyday purchases.

“With each purchase, cardmembers are one step closer to traveling to see loved ones, when the time is right.”

Earlier this month, JetBlue introduced point-of-sale (POS) financing with MarcusPay.
