Newland Payment Technology (Newland NPT) has partnered with enterprise data security provider Futurex to deliver a hosted remote key injection (RKI) service for payment terminals across North America.
The service is intended to support terminal deployments across the US and Canada.

According to Newland NPT, payment terminals must be loaded with cryptographic keys that protect cardholder data before they can process transactions.
In many deployments, these keys are injected at a secure facility before devices are shipped, which can add cost, logistics and time. With RKI, cryptographic keys can be delivered to terminals remotely through a secure process, allowing devices to be shipped directly and activated “sooner”, it added.
The hosted RKI service will be available to processors, independent sales organisations (ISOs), independent software vendors (ISVs), merchants, distributors and channel partners across North America.
Newland NPT said the agreement extends its North American payments offering by adding hosted RKI to its platform.
The company’s portfolio includes Android SmartPOS terminals, the PayExplorer EMV payment application, the PayExplorer software development kit (SDK) for semi-integrated payment solutions, and its terminal operational management system (TOMS).

Newland NPT offers payment security solutions designed to meet PCI security requirements, including PCI DSS, PCI P2PE and PCI PIN.
The company recently partnered with Polskie ePłatności (PeP) to deploy the Newland N950K Android payment terminal in Poland.
