Walmart Canada has launched a new Mastercard credit card in in Quebec that will enable users to earn big rewards for their everyday spending.

The card will allow every day spending to convert into Walmart Reward Dollars.

The rewards earned will in dollar equivalent and not points so that cardholders know how much rewards can be redeemed.

For every dollar spent at Walmart Canada, the cardholder will receive 1.25% in Walmart Reward Dollars on their purchases and 1% if the card is used anywhere else where Mastercard is accepted.

Walmart Reward Dollars can be redeemed at the cash register at any Walmart Canada store in five dollar increments.

Walmart Canada vice president of financial services Terry Mathews said: “The Walmart Rewards Mastercard gives Quebec residents the ability to earn big rewards for their everyday spending and redeem them on a wide selection of items in-store and online.

Customers can apply for the card online at Walmart.ca or at the register inside Walmart Canada stores.

If approved, the customers can begin using their Walmart Rewards Mastercard immediately.

Cardholders can review and check their Walmart Reward Dollars balance and make online payments anytime and anywhere, the retailer said.
