Hyundai Card has introduced the NAVER Hyundai Card Edition3, a credit card series designed with CEKAI, a creator collective based in New York and Tokyo.

The series moves away from static, flat card designs and adds “3D motion graphics” to the physical card plate, a statement said. The approach draws on CEKAI’s 3D billboards for brands such as Nike, BMW and Fendi.

Hyundai Card and CEKAI began discussing new approaches to the credit card format in mid-2025.

Hyundai Card led decisions on materials, packaging and physical feasibility, drawing on its experience in card design. NAVER, a Korean technology company, set an overall design direction based on its brand assets. Within the concept set by Hyundai Card and NAVER, CEKAI had creative freedom over the card design.

The process produced three plate options, two in plastic and one in metal.

Hyundai Card’s Design Lab then turned the designs into physical products. It used laser techniques to show the fine particles of the metal plate. On the plastic plates, it applied special films to emphasise the graphic elements.

The three cards are Plus, Neo and Logo Metal.

Plus represents the benefits of NAVER Plus Membership. Neo uses colour gradients and geometric graphics to convey “futuristic energy”. On Logo Metal, the NAVER logo appears to move through motion graphic design cues.

CEKAI creative director and motion designer Kota Iguchi said: “Currently, credit cards exist as physical plates, but we can easily imagine a future where they evolve into digital displays or take on entirely different forms.

“This project was incredibly exciting because of those diverse possibilities. I hope NAVER Hyundai Card members can feel that potential as well.”

A Hyundai Card spokesperson said: “This collaboration with CEKAI provided an excellent opportunity to expand the creative universe of Hyundai Card’s design.

“We will continue our efforts to ensure the NAVER Hyundai Card is recognised not only for its premier financial benefits but also as a highly coveted item for its cutting-edge design.”
