Services and Paytech have joined forces to launch a healthcare
solutions payment suite in Puerto Rico.
TSYS’ ‘First Paid Healthcare Solution’
provides a real-time calculator that determines what a patient owes
for healthcare services at the time of treatment.

The software claims to break the patient’s
costs down by confirming a patient’s coverage and benefits,
determines out-of-pocket status and calculates charges based on
contracted rates with insurance providers. It then ultimately
produces an estimate of the patient’s responsibility for the
visit.
Patients in Puerto Rico can then pay for
medical services in full with a credit card, debit card or cheque,
or set up and instalment plan on-the-spot.
“First Paid is the first product in Puerto
Rico that allows healthcare providers to efficiently collect
patients’ out-of-pocket expenses,” said Candido Alfonso, CEO and
president of Paytech.
“In our market, the medical industry has
focused on electronically billing insurance plans, but First Paid
is solely focused on helping healthcare providers collect the
expenses not covered by insurance.”
