Tieto has joined forces with Ukrainian Processing Center (UPC) for implementing an end-to-end solution, which will connect acquiring banks to the new Card Suite platform.

The new solution, built to offer services to international merchants in European Union countries, is based on Tieto products Card Suite Acquiring Management System and Clearing.

It will allow client banks to create different business models with consideration of individual needs of distribution networks.

Tieto claims that the solution will enable UPC help EU banks offer their customers, large international merchants, a competitive service package related to centralised merchant acquiring.

Tieto director of cards unit commented: "Tieto’s solution is the innovative platform and it will allow UPC to provide its client banks with competitive benefits in international merchant acquiring.

"Banks will be able to attract international retail chains by giving them reduced fee rates through the cross-border acquiring system, in compliance with the latest requirements of the card industry and international standards in different countries of the European Union."

The service was launched in Poland, and then by merchants in Austria and Slovakia, with another project in Croatia currently underway.
