Standard Chartered Bank targets affluent clients with new credit card

Standard Chartered Bank has rolled out a new premium card, designed to target high-net-worth individuals (HNWIs) in India.

Dubbed ‘Ultimate’ credit card’, the new offering provides a number of lifestyle and travel benefits as well as the highest reward points to cardholders.

Cardholders can avail a host of benefits such as upgrades at luxury hotels, cash-backs at duty free shops and access to total of 170 premier golf courses in India and abroad.

Additionally, the credit card-members can also avail up to 25% instant discount at top 200 restaurants through the Standard Chartered Bank concierge programme, among other benefits.

The new credit card is available at a premium of INR5,000 ($77.9); however, the cost seems to be offset with the INR10,000 ($155.8) cash-back offer, if the cardholders spends on a specific travel portal in first three months of on-boarding.

Standard Chartered Bank head of retail banking in India Shyamal Saxena said: “The launch of Standard Chartered ‘Ultimate’ card reaffirms our commitment to bring in world class privileges to our customers.

“We had recently launched our Premium Banking programme for the emerging affluent customers and with key benefits extended to the customers’ family members.

“Now, we believe this Ultimate credit card too will be a compelling product in the HNI and affluent segments with its feature rich offerings.”
