Skipify has collaborated with Discover Global Network, the payment network to simplify and enhance the checkout process for Discover cardholders across more than 200 countries.

Discover is known for connecting millions of merchants and cardholders globally.

The partnership aims to improve shopper satisfaction by delivering authorisation, conversion rates, and security for Discover merchants through Skipify’s payment infrastructure.

In the initial stages, Skipify will incorporate tokenisation technology from Discover Network, which aims to enhance security by substituting sensitive card details with encrypted tokens.

This move towards tokenisation is intended to mitigate fraud risks and protect customer data during transactions as both automatically provisioned and manually entered cards on Skipify’s platform will undergo tokenisation with Discover.

With over 100 million consumer cards, Skipify’s Commerce Identity Cloud is said to recognise one in every two US shoppers by the end of 2025, the release stated.

Discover Global Network head of Global Products Judith McGuire said: “Discover is committed to building network tokenisation services and ensuring they’re available to merchants and consumers in an impactful way. Skipify helps us do this in real time at online checkout.

“Because of our direct connection with Skipify, we can enable both current and future capabilities without merchants or consumers needing to do additional work to reap the benefits.”

Skipify founder and CEO Ryth Martin said: “We’re building a new standard in payments where people can check out using just their digital identity, and we’re thrilled to have Discover join us on this journey.”

Last month, Skipify partnered with Retail Realm to integrate its Commerce Identity Cloud for improved checkout experiences.
