US-based retailer Sam’s Club is set to accept American Express cards as a form of payment from 1 October 2015.
The new service will be available across the retailer’s more than 650 locations in the US and Puerto Rico.
According to American Express president, global merchant services, Anré Williams, the nationwide presence of Sam’s Club will offer more shopping choices to its consumer as well as small business card members.
Sam’s Club chief member officer Tracey Brown added: "We strive to give more value to our members – more savings, great experiences and quality merchandise. Everything we do ties back to how we can better serve our members.
"The acceptance of the American Express Card underscores our commitment to bring greater ease and flexibility to our members’ shopping experience. American Express – known for their exceptional customer service, loyal, higher-spending Card Members and advocacy of small businesses – will help to extend the value of membership."
