Blackberry mobile phone manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) will use Dutch software company Bell ID’s Token Manager Software in its security systems for NFC mobile payments.

The Token Manager Software manages the different applications and security procedures within a mobile device whilst ensuring that data remains encrypted. Using Trusted Service Manager (TSM) based systems it allows banks and retailers to store and update their credentials and applications on NFC capable devices. Bell ID say that its Token Manager ensures future interoperability with other TSMs and third party NFC services.

In November last year Bell ID bought Scottish software company Ecebs from the Trainline Investment Holdings, for an undisclosed amount.
