PayPal has entered the e-invoicing market,
launching a set of Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) that
can be used by online merchants to create and send invoices.

An additional feature is the Permissions
Service for granting third party permissions. Under this system,
while invoicing the customer, merchants will be given the
option of either self-calling the invoice, or granting permission
for a partner to do so.

PayPal has also said that it intends to
develop the product further, adding new features that will enable
APIs to record offline invoice payments.
