Akimbo Now is a payment service and API which enables businesses and third-party applications to send rewards, incentives, and other payments in real time.

Additionally, businesses and consumers can send customisable gift, incentive and reward cards through email or text. The recipient can either opt to receive a physical card in the mail or to receive the card number virtually through a mobile application.

The digital card helps to save up to 90% costs due to the elimination of plastic card fulfilment, according to the US technology firm.

Payment Data Systems said that its digital card platform is the first of its kind that supports real-time provisioning of reloadable prepaid debit cards to mobile wallets, such as Apple Pay.

The new digital card platform also supports the Akimbo Prepaid MasterCard and Akimbo Gift MasterCard.
