OpenTable, a restaurant reservations web portal, has officially rolled out a new mobile payment app that is accepted at more than 45 restaurants in New York City.

The new app will allow diners to pay their bill at participating restaurants after adding a credit card. They can also select a tip amount, after which, OpenTable will send a receipt through email.

There is no need for diners to download a separate app, enter a table number or scan a barcode.

To pay with OpenTable, the customer will have to use the latest version of the OpenTable iPhone app.

The official launch follows a successful mobile payment pilot program in San Francisco.

Furthermore, the company is planning to introduce the mobile payment app in 20 more cities before 2014 end.
