Global payment technology firm Nuvei has adopted Alipay’s solution, Alipay+, to make cross-border payments easier for merchants to tap over 1.2 billion e-wallet users in the Asia Pacific region.

The cross-border payment and merchant marketing solution also provides access to a network of local e-wallets in Asia.

Nuvei noted that it is currently integrated with Alipay for online purchases through hosted payment page or API, and the point-of-sale app for in-store purchases by making use of a QR code.

Nuvei expects the implementation of the Alipay+ solution to further expand its portfolio of payment methods, allowing its clients to market to the Alipay+ network of e-wallet holders using single API connection.

Alipay had launched cross-border payment and merchant marketing solution in early 2020.

It is designed to help businesses in accepting different payment methods and undertake cost-effective digital marketing campaigns.
