Nayax Australia, a cashless payment solutions provider, has added eftpos, American Express and JCB as payment methods at its more than 20,000 vending machines nationwide.

The vending machines which are located at unattended retail businesses like Laundromats, arcades, car washes, children’s rides and more – will accept these payment options from August this year.

Nearly seven million eftpos proprietary cards in Australia will now be enabled for use at Nayax-powered devices at retail outlets.

eftpos CEO Stephen Benton said: “When this capability is turned on in August, for the first time eftpos cardholders will be able to pay at unattended businesses, including vending, laundromats, car washes, children’s rides, and more.”

American Express ANZ VP of global merchant services Robert Tedesco said: “From office vending machines to accessing lockers and trolleys at the airport, today’s announcement means greater convenience and choice for those wanting to use card payments.”

Nayax said that it will roll out the payment options in stages and only on its cashless payment device VPOS Touch.

Nayax Australia MD Dylan Winik said: “From developing the most advanced unit on the market to providing exceptional support and now to introducing American Express, eftpos and JCB, we have unceasingly kept our customers’ needs front and centre and we will continue to do so.”

The latest move comes after Nayax recently integrated WeChat Pay and Alipay and rolled out the cashless payment services for its customers.
