NACHA- the Electronic Payments Association’s API Standardization Industry Group (ASIG) has joined forces with consulting firm Accenture to develop a community of application program interface (API) resources that will facilitate standardisation of payments in the US.

The new community will offer several API-related resources such as developer tools, training materials, product blogs, articles and code samples to financial services firms.

It will support APIs that were identified by ASIG last year and were found to have immediate impact on the payments landscape and financial services sector.  It will also support other APIs as they are identified.

The two parties will look to developing the community in the coming months through various forums.

NACHA managing director George Throckmorton said: “By partnering with Accenture, we’re able to offer business and technical resources via a digitally enabled platform with all the tools needed for successful deployment of APIs.”

Accenture managing director of pa yments practice Conrad Sheehan added:  “This initiative will support next-generation market innovation, new operating efficiencies for industry participants and better experiences for retail, corporate and internal industry users.”
