MyCheck, a checkout app for restaurants, has collaborated with online payment service provider PayPal to introduce an app, PayPal app, in the US through which consumers can make their bill payments at the table.
Using this app, users can select a restaurant from a list, check-in to the venue, and view ordered items and prices on the mobile device, a swift check out by choosing the pay option bypassing the waiting time for a check, and receive an email receipt. Further, the app also offers options such as split the bill, add a tip, redeem an offer, and accrue loyalty card stamps.
MyCheck co-founder and global ceo, Shlomit Kugler, said that through this venture the company is planning to expand its business by leverage PayPal’s innovations and large customer base.
"With MyCheck built into PayPal’s app, mobile app users will now be able to sidestep waiting for the check in full-service restaurants. Whether MyCheck is a standalone offering or built into another app such as PayPal’s, it provides significant benefits to the user," added Kugler.
The move is aimed at expanding the use of the app into the US market, having been operating in the UK through joint ventures with Prezzo and Busaba Eathai restaurant chain.
In New York City, US, MyCheck struck agreements with Gotham Bar & Grill, Rouge Tomate and Pera Mediterranean Brasserie to adopt the PayPal app powered by MyCheck.
