MerlinWave’s Physical Therapy Practice Software Platform MWTherapy has joined forces with healthcare payments technology firm AxiaMed for a streamlined payment platform.

Under the agreement, AxiaMed’s SaaS-based patient payment platform Payment Fusion will be integrated into MWTherapy.

The integration is said to boost the financial performance of MWTherapy users.

This can be done by speeding up payments related to healthcare and streamlining of administrative workflows with secure credit and debit card processing as well as automated transaction reconciliation.

AxiaMed calls the integration especially significant during the Covid-19 pandemic.

It will allow employees working from home to accept patient payments through Payment Fusion terminals having PCI-Validated P2PE.

MWTherapy business director Sharif Zeid said that the selection of AxiaMed was based on its healthcare payment expertise and security certifications such as point-to-point encryption (P2PE).

Zeid noted: “We’re very excited for this partnership and for what the future holds as we work together to innovate in an evolving healthcare world.

“Our clients are excited about additional security mechanisms in place to store their patients’ credit cards on file utilising tokenisation, processing credit card payments, voids and refunds directly within the MWTherapy application, eliminating double-posting and manual entry errors.”
