Malaysia-based Maybank has launched a new mobile application called TREATS SG Lifestyle to allow instant rewards redemption for its credit and debit card customers in Singapore.

The reward points can be redeemed in an e-coupon wallet, while cardholders can receive real-time alerts on promotions, privileges and flash deals.

Maybank TREATS SG Lifestyle comes with a Rewards Catalogue, enabling customers to redeem any item on-the-go. Customers can choose from more than 200 rewards across various categories such as air miles and branded merchandise.

At the same time, the app enables submission of application for a new card.

Maybank head of cards for Malaysia and Singapore Karen Low said: “Bringing our rewards programme to a mobile app platform is a strategic move as it allows the Bank to reach out to customers in real time.

“Redeeming rewards in an app is time-saving and with push notifications, busy individuals will not miss out on any promotions and deals that merchants are offering to cardmembers.”

Furthermore, Maybank Singapore refreshed its cards as well as TREATS website to improve user experience. The bank also partnered with the Manchester United Football Club to integrate a gamification element within the app.

Maybank Singapore head of community financial services Alvin Lee said: “We started to digitalise our cards business in 2015 so as to accelerate business growth, improve process efficiency and build new competencies to meet the changes in our operating environment. This in turn heightens our cards’ value propositions and brings greater value to our customers.”
