MasterCard and Visa have authorized E-Finance to issue and print e-cards for all banks and global financial institutions, members of both international organizations, through its card issuance center.

E. Finance chairman Ibrahim Sarhan said that the authorization makes the company the first in Egypt to be eligible for issuance of all types of electronic smart cards for global Institutions, including Master Card and Visa. The cards include debit, credit as well as prepaid cards (for salaries – installment – gifts).

The smart e-card issuance center incorporates the latest technology to secure customer data, added Sarhan.

According to E-Finance smart cards sector director Mahmoud Kamal, production capacity of the center is the largest in the Middle East, where it issues over 4.5 million smart cards per month, using laser carving technology.

Card center manager Ahmed Torky said: "E-Finance center, being qualified to issue smart cards for banks, will provide huge investments, previously defrayed by banks in establishing card centers and infrastructure with the least level of production and lower quality.

"The company will have an active role in the provision of foreign currency used to import equipment and solutions used for establishing any of the other centers in banks, in addition to increasing the speed in global performance of services as well as better quality in implementation."
