JCB International (JCBI), the international operations subsidiary of JCB, and the payments processor Rev Worldwide (Rev) have joined forces to develop prepaid card products in key JCB markets across the world.

The relationship will leverage Rev’s proprietary global processing platform, prepaid product set, program management services and multi-currency platform innovations along with JCBI’s card issuing, merchant acceptance network, and corporate partnerships to launch JCB prepaid products.
JCBI will utilize the partnership to grow prepaid market opportunities and accelerate JCB’s overseas expansion.
JCBI deputy president Kimihisa Imada said: "The demand for prepaid cards has been growing in general, and multi-currency prepaid products in particular are becoming popular for those who want to depend less on credit and frequently travel overseas, as this eliminates the need to exchange currencies in each country they visit.
"We are committed to providing quality, efficient and secure cross-border payment services to our partners, and providing convenient and localized service to the increasing JCB card-members."
