Payments technology firm InComm has collaborated with retailer Poundland and transaction processing technology firm Eezi to introduce a gift card programme in the UK.
Under the programme, gift cards will be available at Poundland stores across various categories including online shopping, gaming, streaming, dining as well as retail.
Poundland transformation director Mat Ankers said: “Step by step, day by day, we’re becoming the retailer our customers want us to be, offering more of the things they love – like this wide range of gift cards – in select stores.”
Currently, the gift cards are available in 200 Poundland stores. The retailer plans a broader roll-out during the course of this year.
Overall, Poundland has more than 850 stores in the UK and Ireland.
InComm senior vice president for EMEA and Russia Simon Osgood said: “We’re excited for Poundland’s customers as, in addition to having a one-stop shop for discount products, their customers now have access to convenient gifting and self-purchase options through this partnership.”
In 2018, InComm partnered with Razer and its e-payment subsidiary MOL Global to launch Google Play gift cards in Thailand. At launch, the cards were made available in more than 4,000 7-Eleven stores.
This was followed by InComm’s launch of Google Play gift cards in Malaysia that were made available in over 2,250 7-Eleven stores.
