Guaranty Trust Bank Rwanda (GTBank Rwanda) in collaboration with MasterCard has rolled out three new debit cards in the country.

The cards include: GTBank MasterCard Platinum and Classic debit card, as well as the GTCrea8 debit card for students.

The Platinum debit card offers premium benefits to the cardholders including travel benefits, preferential treatments and rewards, higher transaction limits, among others.

The Classic debit card can be used to carry out all types of local and international payments across all channels such as ATM, POS, online.

GTCrea8 MasterCard is a variant of the Rwandan Francs MasterCard issued to students of tertiary institutions to provide them 24/7 access to their GTCrea8 accounts globally.

MasterCard vice president and area business head Chris Bwakira said: “Innovation is driving inclusion in Rwanda and across Africa, and access to convenient solutions such as debit cards will make an immediate impact on those eager to move beyond cash.”
