GoCoin has rolled out a Click-to-Bill feature, allowing merchants to accept digital currency payments from their customers.
Using the new capability, merchants can create invoices and request payment through email or text message directly from their GoCoin Dashboard.
The company also enables billing through the GoCoin API for merchants seeking to generate custom WYSIWYG forms.
For SMS invoices, customers will get an alert on their mobile phone with a link to view the bill. As soon as they click on the link, it launches their bitcoin wallet, where they are prompted to choose their preferred currency and submit the payment.
GoCoin co-founder and CEO Steve Beauregard said: "Consumers are getting more accustomed to alternative forms of payment, and with SMS billing we’re helping merchants replicate the online experience with in-store commerce and account top-ups.
GoCoin provides simple plug-in for popular e-commerce shopping carts to modernize the payment process.
Recently the company has expanded its open source plug-in library to WooCommerce, Magento, Prestashop, VirtueMart, ZenCart, OpenCart, OSCommerce and UberCart.
