GCash, the mobile money service of Globe’s G-Xchange, has teamed up with the local governments of Quezon City, Valenzuela City and Batangas City for payment services using mobile phones.

Under the terms of the agreement, the denizens of three cities will be able to pay for their property tax and business and construction permits through their mobile phones.

GCash has collaborated with three LGUs under USAID’s Scaling Innovation through Mobile Money (SIMM) project to provide residents a platform to settle their payments of real property tax and business and construction permits.

G-Xchange president Paolo Baltao was quoted by ABS-CBNnews.com as saying that "Using our mobile payment system, residents of Quezon City, Valenzuela City and Batangas City will no longer have to travel all the way to city hall and queue in line for hours to pay for their real property taxes as well as for their business and construction permits."

A GCash wallet can be topped through GCash outlets available in Globe Stores, Puregold Supermarkets, Partner Rural Banks, Globe Load Distributors, and partner pawnshops like Villarica and Tambunting Pawnshops, among others.

Further, the wallet can also be funded using mobile banking through BPI Mobile Bank and Unionbank; GCash online through Megalink online cash-in; and ATM via Bancnet.
