FIS
has confirmed it plans to launch a cloud-based
mobile payments
solution.

The FIS mobile wallet service will offer
payment services at the point of sale and online.

FIS said an added feature is the ability to
build the mobile payments solution into a retailer’s or financial
intuition’s existing mobile application.

Consumers can download the app offered by
their financial institution or retailer, add their payment card
information and then use the solution to make a purchase.

Secure information such as card numbers or
PINs is not stored on the POS device or on the smartphone, FIS
said.
