Fancards, eGifter join forces for online gift card shop

Collegiately-licensed prepaid cards provider University Fancards has partnered with USIO and eGifter to introduce an online shop to buy and send Fancard Gift Mastercard with over 25 teams to choose from.

The partnership enables fans to send physical or virtual gift Mastercard featuring their favourite college teams to anyone in the US via the Fancards website.

Fancards collegiate partnerships include the Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, Michigan Wolverines, Texas Longhorns, among other brands.

Fancards co-founder and EVP of Operations Greg Boggs said: “We’re extremely excited about the new technology we’ve developed with USIO and eGifter.

“This new platform we’ve created will greatly enhance the consumer experience on our site and give customers the ability to deliver gift cards instantly that a recipient can add to their Apple Pay or Google Pay digital wallet.”

“This new solution for gift giving also opens up possible enhancements for our product line that are in development. We are aiming to announce new features over the coming months.”

Introduced in 2011, the eGifter eGifting Platform allows retailers and strategic partners to manage their gifting and stored value programmes.

USIO facilitates Fancards’ prepaid reloadable card programme and card processing.

The company also supports the development of Fancards web and mobile apps. It has worked alongside Fancards since 2018 since its roll-out of collegiately licensed prepaid reloadable Mastercards.

Last year, Fancards launched a new mobile app to enable real-time issuance of collegiately licensed prepaid cards. The app is available for both iOS and Android users, and is compatible with Apple Pay.

The new service includes various features and capabilities, including creation of sub-cards under a primary account.
