Citibank Hong Kong and 3 Hong Kong, the mobile operations arm of Hutchison Telecommunications Hong Kong Holdings, have launched ‘3 Citi Wallet’, a mobile wallet service aimed at existing customers.

Powered by NFC, the wallet will be made available to 3 Hong Kong users who also own a Citibank Visa credit card, and will offer mobile payments, transaction history, a location-based deals service, and a special offer search function.

Amy Lung, managing director of 3 Hong Kong mobile, said: "We are delighted to collaborate with Citibank to launch ‘3 Citi Wallet’, which is widely supported by a vast array of retail merchants, significantly widening the capabilities of mobile payment."

According to the companies, the ‘3 Citi Wallet’ is the only one if its kind in Hong Kong compatible with both Android and iOS platforms.
