American banking major Citi has collaborated with MasterCard to offer a new MasterCard-branded debit card to its UK Citigold Private Clients.

The new offering, dubbed MasterCard World Debit Card, will allow customers to link their card to up to 11 of their foreign currency accounts and withdraw different currencies with just one card.

With the latest card, customers will also benefit from Worldwide Travel Insurance, airport lounge access and MasterCard’s fraud analytics.

MasterCard is accepted at nearly 43.5 million locations in the UK and overseas.

MasterCard senior vice president for UK and Ireland Eimear Creaven said: “It’s a privilege to offer our first World Debit MasterCard to Citigold Private Clients. The unique global benefits that come with this card complement the world-class wealth management and investment clients benefit from. Plus, they now have the reach and resources of both Citi and MasterCard, wherever they are in the world.”

Citi head of UK consumer bank and international personal bank EMEA Salman Haider said “At Citi, we pride ourselves on providing the best in class wealth management services to our Citigold Private Clients, and we believe that this new partnership with MasterCard aligns perfectly with our goal.
