DSK Bank, Bulgaria’s largest retail bank by assets, has announced the launch of a new gamification application, in collaboration with UK solutions company Misys.

Named DSK Gameo, the application is a mobile savings application, designed to improve DSK’s customer experience while affording market insight and sales leads, according to the bank.

Diana Miteva, executive director for retail banking at DSK Bank, commented: "In order to differentiate DSK Bank and capture market share, we decided to develop a gamification application.

"When Misys approached us with the proof of concept for BankFusion Gameo, we were particularly excited."

The service is the first banking application to make use of Misys’ BankFusion Gameo technology, using gaming principles to engage customers and incentivise regular savings behaviour.

"Misys demonstrated a deep understanding of retail banking which gave us confidence in their ability to deliver an application that would be innovative, while stable and secure," added Miteva.

The application encourages the setting of financial goals, finding out about new products, as well as carrying out certain transactions, by rewarding the consumer with points which can be traded for prizes including event tickets and vouchers.
