The Bank of Khyber (BOK) has signed an agreement with JCB International (JCBI) for the issuance of JCB debit cards.

The international debit card will offer customers the bank point of sale and ATM cash withdrawal facilities across Pakistan and in over 190 countries and territories worldwide.

In addition to getting 1Link network’s point of sale and ATM cash withdrawal benefit in Pakistan and globally, BOK & JCB debit cardmembers will also receive the facility of interbank transfer of funds and payment of utilities bills through all ATMs in Pakistan.

1Link network is managed by 1Link (Guarantee), a Pakistan-based payment system offering services such as ATM switch services, inter-bank funds transfer, bill payment services to their member banks, including BOK.

JCBI and 1Link struck a deal to launch JCB debit cards in Pakistan, which will be issued by member banks and will be accepted at point of sale and ATM via the 1Link network.

BOK managing director Shams-ul-Qayyum commented: "It is a great occasion for BOK that JCBI, a world household name in the payment industry entered in Pakistan’s banking industry.
