Bank Muscat has launched card acquiring services in Oman in collaboration with payments processor Visa, enabling its clients to avail home delivery service by food chain Pizza Hut.

Launched for the first time in Oman, the customers can now pay their bills using debit or credit cards issued by any bank on Bank Muscat GPRS portable POS machine carried by Pizza Hut vendors for home delivery service.

Bank Muscat cards and e-banking AGM Tariq Atiq said the bank is delighted to launch another value-added service benefiting customers.

"Reflecting our commitment to providing the ‘best in class’ service, Bank Muscat continues to invest in cutting edge IT infrastructure, latest point of sale terminals and competent human resources available in the payments industry," added Atiq.

Bank Muscat has deployed over 10,000 POS terminals across Oman to support the expansion of e-payment services.

Atiq revealed, "In 2013, the bank’s cards and e-banking recorded a 54 per cent increase in card transactions volume and merchant outlets network grew by 30 per cent. This shows that e-payment is fast becoming the preferred mode of payment in Oman. The bank’s success in changing customer payment behaviour is encouraging."
