Search engine giant Google has rolled out its mobile payment service, Android Pay, in Russia with the support of 15 financial institutions.

Russia is the eleventh country where Google has launched contactless mobile payment solution.

Android Pay in Russia is being supported by MasterCard credit or debit card issued by the financial institutions, including AK BARS, Alfa-Bank, B&N Bank, MTS Bank, Otkritie, Promsvyazbank, Raiffeisen Bank, Rocketbank, Russian Standard Bank, Russian Agricultural Bank, Sberbank, Tinkoff Bank, Tochka, VTB24 or Yandex.Money.

Raiffeisen Bank, Sberbank, or Tinkoff Bank mobile apps users can also enable Android Pay from those banking apps without having to download Android Pay. Users just need to tap the ‘Add to Android Pay’ button to enable card in Android Pay without entering their card information.

With the app, Android Pay users can make payment at Magnit, Perekrestok, Starbucks, KFC and Rosneft. The app can also be used to shop online through supporting applications, including Lamoda, OneTwoTrip, or Rambler-Kassa.

Google first launched Android Pay in the US in September 2015, followed by eight additional countries – the UK, Singapore, Australia, Hong Kong, Poland, New Zealand, Ireland and Japan in 2016.
