Korean Air selects CyberSource for online payment solutions

Airbitz, a US-based mobile wallet provider, has introduced ‘One-Touch 2-Factor Authentication’ to its mobile bitcoin wallet for iPhone and Android devices.

The new security feature will allows users to enable 2FA at the tap of a button without any need to repeatedly type in a 6 digit code on login, or backup a 2FA seed.

Available on the Google Play and Apple App Store, the feature will effectively connect device to Airbitz account and not allow any new devices to authenticate.

In order to add additional devices user must scan a QR code on the original device that enabled 2-Factor.

User can request to disable 2FA by using their login and password via the Airbitz app on a new device if he loses the existing device.

The company said that the request will require a seven-day waiting period during which the user’s previously logged-in device will be sent push notifications to warn them in case of fraud.

The app does not to require any email, phone number, or personal information, allowing for 100% user control over their Bitcoin.

According to Airbitz, 2FA is a feature for online accounts that refers to two factors required to authenticate with an online service.

Under 2FA, the first factor includes a login and password required to authenticate with an online service, while the second prevents unauthorized access to an account by an attacker that has the correct login and password, but does not have the user’s device.
