ACI Worldwide and Circle Internet Group have collaborated to examine how USDC stablecoin settlement could be integrated with existing banking and payment infrastructure in Latin America.

The initiative combines ACI Connetic, ACI Worldwide’s cloud-native payments orchestration platform, with Circle’s USDC infrastructure. Circle issues USDC through its regulated entities.

The initial focus is Colombia, where ACI Worldwide developed the central infrastructure supporting Bre-B, the country’s interoperable instant-payments ecosystem.

Bre-B provides a basis for real-time, account-to-account payments across the country.

The initiative will explore how USDC could operate alongside this infrastructure and support a more connected, multi-rail payments ecosystem.

ACI Worldwide global head of account-to-account payments Craig Ramsey said: “The conversation around stablecoins is moving from possibility to practicality. Financial institutions want to understand how digital asset settlement can fit into the infrastructure and operating models they already trust.

“Through ACI Connetic, we’re demonstrating a practical approach to integrating regulated stablecoins into existing payment workflows.”

ACI Connetic combines traditional payment methods, card payments, and digital assets on a single cloud-native platform. It is intended to make it easier for financial institutions to incorporate new payment capabilities.

The collaboration will allow financial institutions to assess how stablecoin settlement can operate alongside their existing payments systems.

While the work uses USDC and Circle’s infrastructure, ACI Connetic is designed to support payment networks, digital-asset providers, and future settlement models through one platform.

Circle chief commercial officer Kash Razzaghi said: “By working with ACI Worldwide, we’re creating a practical path for institutions to explore how USDC can fit into established payment environments, helping bridge traditional financial infrastructure with the growing digital economy.”
