Virtual card platform Privacy.com has partnered with password manager 1Password to ensure safe online payments and prevent credit fraud.
The partners have announced an API integration that allows enterprise users and consumers to create a virtual card while making an online payment.
The service eliminates the need for sharing their credit or debit card details with online vendors.
Users can also set up spending limits, and use the card for one-time subscriptions at e-commerce platforms including, Spotify and Amazon.
For each website or merchant, users can create a new virtual card and automatically receive unique payment credentials.
They can choose to save these Privacy cards in 1Password for later use.

For enterprise users, the virtual cards can be used for tasks spanning from managing and tracking vendor transactions to setting up spending limits on employee expense accounts.
By limiting the cards to online vendors and setting spending limits, 1Password’s enterprise password manager (EPM) and Privacy.com will protect users from online fraud, data breaches, overcharges, and subscription scams.
Privacy CEO Bo Jiang said: “It’s the first time users will be able to generate virtual cards directly within their password manager, cutting down on the number of steps needed to protect their payment credentials.
1Password CEO Jeff Shiner said: “Partnering with Privacy.com is a no-brainer for 1Password. These are brand new features both for password managers and payment services, and I know both teams are excited to be bringing these new capabilities to our customers.
“With the Privacy.com integration for 1Password, you can make payments online with more safety and privacy, whoever you are.”
The partnership offers new 1Password customers a 25% discount on 1Password Business, 1Password Teams, and 1Password Family, for the first year.
1Password customers new to Privacy.com will get a free subscription to Privacy Pro for three months. Privacy Pro allows users to create extra cards, and more.
The latest integration will be available in the US, initially.
