Concept: Connecticut technology company Pitney Bowes has rolled out a cloud-based sending solution PitneyShip Pro built on the new SaaS Shipping 360 platform from Pitney Bowes. The company claims that the new sending solution integrates next-generation design with advanced shipping and mailing functionality.
Nature of Disruption: Pitney Bowes claims that PitneyShip Pro is a flexible and scalable solution that provides enterprises greater control and visibility over sending activity and expenditure. It provides a complete view of shipping and mailing across all employees and locations and offers the ability to rate shop across national and regional carriers. The new solution has an easy-to-use interface that is designed to scale across all employees regardless of where they work, with its fast set-up requiring minimal IT support. Employees receive a secure email with clear instructions to access PitneyShip Pro from any secure internet connection and they can begin shipping and mailing. PitneyShip Pro enables enterprises to select from a range of different carriers and services on a single screen. It helps companies to shop different rates across multiple national and regional carriers to ensure the best value. Pitney Pro can print shipping labels across multiple carriers and print USPS (United States Postal Service) postage stamps. It enables enterprises to process Certified Mail with electronic return receipt (ERR) with signatures that are captured within the solution.
Outlook: The number of people working remotely is expected to increase and this can lead to an increase in the volume of the parcels. The enterprises are finding it difficult to manage the huge volume of parcels generated. Pitney Bowes claims that the PitneyShip Pro can enable companies to adapt to the changing business requirements and provides organizations a more holistic way to manage to send and receive parcels. The new solution allows integration of applications including real-time analytics and ParcelPoint Smart Lockers that provide the organizations greater control and visibility into sending activity and expenditure.
