ZipLine, a mobile payment solutions provider, has acquired Florida-based gift card payment platform SmartClixx.

The SmartClixx acquisition is effective immediately. It marks ZipLine’s entry into the gift card market strengthening its existing consumer payments and loyalty services portfolio.

Established in 2001, SmartClixx offers a highly-configurable and customisable software platform that enables gift card issuance as well as customer service refunds and returns.

The platform is utilised by several retail brands such as Chico’s, Lord & Taylor, Saks Fifth Avenue, Belk, and Books-A-Million. It processes more than a billion dollars of stored value card transactions annually through these retail locations.

ZipLine assists retailers and merchants with custom mobile payment and reward programmes. It clients include Circle K, Speedway, Cumberland Farms, Irving, Giant Eagle and Big Y.

The company operates through two locations in Maine and Florida.
