Zebpay, India’s first bitcoin wallet, has launched an alliance of all bitcoin companies in India, called Bitcoin India Alliance, to make bitcoin transaction easy in the country.
The Bitcoin India Alliance will act as a body to represent Indian Bitcoin industry to government and other associations and also work to increase Bitcoin awareness and adoption in India.
Additionally, the company is planning to roll out a list of India’s merchants who accept bitcoins including a real estate company, a chain of restaurants, coffee shops and more.
Last month, Zebpay has launched a new app that allows users to easily buy, store, send and spend bitcoins through mobile numbers.
Moreover, Zebpay has partnered with a developer in Ahmadabad to start using Bitcoin for selling of flats and to start a pilot project for a chain of restaurants in Mumbai to use this currency for transaction.
Zebpay Jt CEO Saurabh Agrawal said: "This is our first step towards decoding the future of money. We also made efforts to communicate to the people along with leading firms and influential bodies that bitcoins is legal in India just like everywhere else and people can freely buy and sell bitcoins.
"We will soon be able to buy IPL tickets using Bitcoin, we have sold Flipkart and Amazon vouchers among others," he added.
