German payments company Wirecard has introduced a new prepaid Visa card, dubbed mycard2go.
The newly launched card is the first Visa Simply One combined debit/credit card. It is issued by Wirecard Bank AG.
The card, which combines high-level security in the form of PIN entry with global acceptance, will enable its users to make cashless payments at more than 24 million Visa acceptance points.
The card is available at numerous outlets across Germany, including petrol stations and kiosks – where they can also top up the cards with cash.
After purchasing, users need to activate their mycard2go by SMS or online.
The company said that it will not charge any additional international service fee for payments made outside of the Eurozone.
