Corporate payment solutions provider WEX has partnered with Valero Energy to manage its proprietary fleet fuel card programme.

Scheduled to be fully implemented from 1 April next year, the pact is expected to boost the technology as well as service of the Valero Energy’s fleet fuel card programme.

It will also enable the Valero’s fleet customers to transact using their mobile phones and also avail additional benefits.

Commenting on the agreement, WEX senior vice president of global fleet partners Brian Fournier said: “We’re excited for the addition of Valero to WEX’s commercial fuel card portfolio and look forward to deepening the brand’s value in its core markets.

“This relationship positions us to help Valero grow commercial volume by providing best-in-class technology, sales and marketing to Valero’s commercial programs, offering its fleet card customers a number of services and conveniences they have not had in the past.”

Valero delivers fuels to more than 5,000 branded fuel stations across the US. It manages 15 petroleum refineries and produces almost 3.1 million barrels of fuels daily.
