The Association of Canadian Travel Agencies (ACTA) and homeware and garden retailer Robert Dyas tapped Western Union to power cross-border payments.

ACTA, a trade travel association, has partnered with Western Union to enable cross-border payments for its members.

Over 12,000 national members of ACTA travel agencies will gain access to Western Union Business Solution through the partnership.

Western Union Business Solutions vice president of Canada Roy Farah said: “We look forward to this new collaboration with ACTA, helping their members reduce costs and driving value back into the travel industry.

“As one of the world’s leading providers of cross-border business payments, Western Union is transforming how businesses can expand globally through one of the largest and most diverse payment networks in the world.”

A unit of the Theo Paphitis Retail Group chain, Robert Dyas will enable global money transfers to more than 200 countries through Western Union.

Customers can make the fund transfers from more than 90 Robert Dyas stores in the UK.

They can either start the transaction on the Western Union mobile app and make the payment in-store or complete the entire payment in-person at the retail outlets.

Robert Dyas owner and chairman Theo Paphitis said: “Our collaboration with Western Union offers even more convenience in-store for our Robert Dyas customers now, as well as for our Ryman estate of stores.

“Not only can they pick up items for the home or garden in Robert Dyas, but now we’re making it convenient for them to transfer their money too.”
