Digital security firm Watchdata Technologies has teamed up with Visa to roll out a low cost, dual-interface EMV (Europay, MasterCard and Visa) chip card solution to financial organisations.
Watchdata’s TimeCOS Dual Interface EMV chip card allows financial institutions to deliver consumers with the security of EMV and the convenience of contactless payments at an affordable price point.
In connection with this program, Watchdata will work directly with Visa to promote such a solution in Asia Pacific, Central Europe, Middle East and Africa to enhance the adoption of contactless payments.
Visa emerging product solutions regional head Vikram Modi said: "This is a step forward in enabling Financial Institutions to quickly expand Visa payWave programs to their customers. Watchdata’s card fits the industry need for a simple, cost effective contactless payment."
