The finalists of the VRL Prepaid Middle East Awards 2013 are gearing up to hear the names of the winners, during a ceremony taking place in Dubai on April 17.

For the Outstanding Innovation in Prepaid category:

  • RAK Bank in the UAE for the Bayani Card
  • Bahrain Islamic Bank’s BISB e-Card

Marketing Campaign of the Year:

  • Turkey’s Aktif Bank, for the Sakarya Shoppingfest
  • Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority for its Public Transport Day
  • And MAF Finance for the MyNet Card campaign

Industry Partner of the Year:

The panel included: David Parker, chief executive of Polymath Consulting, Walter Kleinschmidt, President of R2E Consultants, Josef Szekeres, Head of Financial Services at CGI Business Consulting, Amjed Shacker, Client Partner & Country Manager for Saudi Arabia at Pedersen & Partners, and James Ratcliff, who chaired the panel.

"It is only our second year but this event has already become an important date in the calendar, and the volume of nominations we receives is truly astonishing. However, the really exciting thing is that the potential of prepaid has yet to be fully realised in this region," Timetric’s Group Publisher Andy Cook said.
