The solution is available on a monthly subscription or one-off payment model, and features the Viva Wallet Pocket Card Terminal, a card terminal holder and a TfL approved Bluetooth Receipt Printer with a vehicle mount.

Since 2016, all London based taxis are required to accept card and contactless payments, and must be fitted with a TfL approved card payment device installed in the passenger compartment. Along with the device itself, they must also be able to produce a printed receipt upon request by the passenger.

Viva Wallet black cabs solution

The black cabs solution includes the hardware, installation process, and all the benefits of Viva Wallet; 0% acceptance fees, no contract and next-day settlement.

According to Viva Wallet, taxi drivers will be able to make more money on fares paid through card transactions, by earning back their acceptances fees to 0%. To do this, they must use Viva Wallet Digital Debit Card to pay for their business expenses such as their fuel and food costs.

Through the Viva Wallet Account Dashboard, drivers also have access to full visibility of their account, allow them to manage business transactions.

Within the Dashboard, they can view each sales transaction, facilitate refunds or charge cancellation in real-time. Furthermore, they can export comprehensive analytic data reports to Excel or CSV files.

Payment hardware

The Pocket Card terminal accepts over 24 payment types through contactless and Chip & PIN transactions, has a full-colour screen display, comes with a 4G SIM card and a higher capacity battery.

Furthermore, through Bluetooth connectivity and by downloading the free Viva Wallet Terminal app, taxi drivers can accept payments and enter fare amounts, all from their mobile device.

Taxi drivers that would like to install the Viva Wallet Black Can Bundle into their cab, can do so by visiting the Viva Wallet Black Cab solution page on the Viva Wallet website.
